The more widespread the damage, the better off you are replacing the entire roof. What is the average lifespan of a roof? How long a roof lasts depends on a number of factors including its materials, ventilation, and installation. Asphalt shingles, for instance, won’t last as long as copper shingles. Generally speaking, a well-constructed roof will last 30-40 years.
